ONE MORE STEP

Tonight is a night like many others
A night that is hard to describe
Confusion and sadness cloud my mind
Another night where I am born to die
The rain clatters against the glass
Where is my sweet salvation?
I wait for the night that I will find
The death of my mind’s starvation
Thinking, weeping, waiting
For what – I am not so sure
Anxious, yearning, dissatisfied
Feeling wrong and impure
Redemption from mistakes
Deliverance from regret
Give me the signs I need
So I can take one more step.
